The air is calm and the breeze is clear in the general district of Minato-ku. People scurry about their everyday routine- making a living as always. Cars usually locked in endless traffic are not present; in their stead, seemingly empty streets spread out from the center of town. Birds chirp exhuberantly- hastened to sing their alert of the new day. Usagi sat up in bed, rubbing her eyes groggily. "M-Mamo-chan?" she asked sitting upright, letting her feet dangle over the edge of the bed. "Oh, just a dream..." she said following a hazy yawn. "-still, it was a great dream, even if it wasn't real..." she said. A ruby tint taking to her cheeks. Evidently, it was a fairly lucent dream.
She lifted herself from bed and stretched, trying her best to fight off the heavenly illusion Mamoru left behind upon her vivid imagination. How long had it been since she had last seen him? Almost two years now, it had to have been. She remember the day vividly- when Mamoru left for America. Saying something about a job opportunity, he vanished leaving her with only a hug and her memories. He promised to return to her eventually, but days had become long and taxing on her nerves. If he only knew how much she longed for him- yearned to be in his arms once more. She could almost hear him even now-
"Usagi...wait for me..."
No, now was not the time for such things. Glancing over at the little cat-shaped alarm-clock beside the bed, she realized one startling revelation. "Ooooh nnoooo! I'm late for work! Quickly bolting out of bed and sprang and rushed into the shower for a quick rinse. She got dressed, ran for the door, grabbed her belongings off the desk by the door, slipped into her shoes, and was out the door in a puff of smoke. A blurr of blonde cut down the side-walk at mach three, making incredible drift-turns that put race-drivers to shame. In a minute or so, she pulled into the final stretch of her five-yard dash and skidded to a halt almost a block away from the building where she worked.
She found her way to her desk and settled in for the day. As long as the boss didn't know she was in late, the better things were for her. What he didn't know, wouldn't hurt her. Punctuality was a requirement for most. Even now, she wondered what happened to the rest of the girls and what had become of them since they parted ways...
Rei wasn't sure what had come over her. She was rarely ever late for anything. Luckily Makoto had been around. Ever since moving to America, things had been hectic at most. People never slept here in New York. The city was always busy with commotion. Still, they had secured jobs in a modelling troupe and things had taken a turn for the better. It would be but a matter of time before she could get her best foot forward and achieve one of her life-long goals.
"Hey, see that guy over there?" Makoto mused. She pointed to a fairly decent looking guy- blonde, tall, dark, incredibly gorgeous. No, scratch that first part- he was more than decent; he was stellar! Still, Rei knew exactly where this conversation was headed. Sighing irritably, Rei hooked her arm around Makoto's and dragged her along. "Save it. He looks just like your last boyfriend, yeah I know..." she muttered. Just exactly how many ex-boyfriends did Makoto have?! Rei pondered that for a moment before comming to the conclusion that she really didn't care to know. "C'mon, you- let's go." she groaned, pulling the taller brunette along behind her. They had to be downtown in fifteen minutes and Makoto was wasting way too much time oggling at guys.
They reached their destination around noon, which was a little under fifteen minutes late and Rei had worried herself into a migraine. Makoto continued to insist that the boss would sympathize but Rei was no-less reluctant. Especially since this was their fifth time in three weeks. "Just shut up, Makoto...just shut up..." she growled weakly. Makoto shrugged and followed Rei inside. It would definately be a long day...
"Phew. I thought I would never get out of there." The blue-haired girl said with a sigh of relief. It felt good to be out of class for once. Nursing School was absolutely nothing like high school- Ami was certain of that. She walked along, watching the scenery unfold and roll out into the place she had come to know so well: Minato-ku. She spotted Minako across the street and waved. Mina-chan nodded and waved back at her- still too busy to greet her properly. She had begun working at the Music Store a few weeks ago and was already having difficulty with the job. Still, Artemis would keep her in-line. Hopefully, Minako would remember that they were both supposed to head over to Usagi's appartment tonight and chat with Rei and Makoto via internet.
Knowing Minako, it was like going through one ear and out the other. She and Usagi were alike in so many ways. Three fourths of a smile appeared on her face as she giggled into her hand and pushed the thought aside for now. She needed to hurry home so she could study for a few hours and get over to Usagi's in time...
Meanwhile, in a secluded region of space, Pluto weakly glanced up at the image of Earth being projected upon a screen. "W-what are you...planning...T-Testament?" she sputtered. A trickle of blood seeped from the corner of her rosy lips as she addressed the shadowy figure in black. The man's lips curled into a sinister grin and he lifted his head so that his eyes could be seen beneath his long-brimmed hat. His blue eye shone with compassion while his red eye bore only contempt down upon the beaten and bruised Outer Senshi. The man, dressed as a pastor in black turned to face her- his long blonde braid whipping around his body freely.
"I already have that which I desire, Pluto. Don't ask stupid questions..." he chided, glancing a slap across her cheek. "Now, let us get down to bussiness...shall we?" he said venomously as he knelt down and kissed the girl forcefully. Pluto growled, flailing hopelessly against the chains that bound her wrist, legs, and neck- but found if futile. Hesitantly, and unwillingly, she gave into his desires. She had been broken mentally and physically, letting her head hang shamefully as he stood and turned his back to her. She could here his cold silent laughter already- afterall, she had swore so valiantly that she would never be overcome by him.
Evidently, she had been painfully mistaken in underestimating the man dressed in black. "What are you going to do...now that you have me, Testament?" Pluto asked wearily as if upon her last breath. He smirked and glanced over his shoulder at her. "Pluto, open a rift in time for me..." he commanded. He was avoiding the question all together. Suprisingly, Pluto nodded and complied without resistance- as if all her will had been sucked from her, leaving only her battered body limply kneeling in chains.
"I'll see about getting you a glass of water. You taste like blood." he stated in a stale voice before stepping into the portal and vanishing from sight. A black-haired girl appeared beside Pluto and splashed a glass of water in the Outer Senshi's face haughtingly. "Try to stay awake, darlin'. The show hasn't even started yet." she crooned.
